Fall Hanna

<

I just love this Hanna stamp. Here she is in the fall.

Roses

It's been a bit crazy over here. I've been busy trying to look for a job and at the same time enjoying my time.
I love art, this summer I'm trying to see if I can get my "groove" back in appreciating the canvas that nature has provided. I took some time to start drawing. I'll be uploading some of my work here.
This first one is recent. I love flowers--what better to start with than roses! My husband has been busy expanding out his collection of roses. For Father's Day (I was late, but better late than never!) I got him a very beautiful specie called the "Love Rose." It's a beautiful combination of pink, red and white rose. It's a single-stemmed type but it's so beautiful! I will have to go and snap some pictures of the roses for you to see. Anyhow, my first drawing is of the roses that my neice, Kitty got from her dance performance. Just brushing up....

Papertrey Blog Hop Card #3

This is my last card that I've created with the new pattern paper. Also the paper was the main focal point as an ice cream. I wanted to created something in a more neutral color. The close up is of the glitter on the image. It's really pretty in real life.

Papertrey Blog Hop card #2

This is my 2nd card. The new paper is the main focal point for this card. I love the swirls on one of the pieces and decided that it reminds me of a yogurt sundae. The other pattern was perfct as a cone! What better!!! I decided ot make an ice cream cone out of the 2 pattern papers. Maybe Nicole will use this idea to design a stamp set. hehehehehee--I wished! Well, summer is around the corner. What a better idea than to have ice cream on a nice hot summer day!

Papertrey Blog Hop Card #1

I've decided to upload the cards that I've created for the Papertrey blog hopping now b/c I won't be home tonight. The family is planning something so I won't be able to upload later.
This is the first of 3 cards that I've created. I used the pattern paper as a pot for the plant. What better time...Spring is here and lots of plants are blooming. I used the pot image from the "Green Thumb" set to stamp the pot on the pattern paper. The image was cut out. The leaves are also from Green Thumb.

Fun Little Storage Solution

I made this last night to store my embellishments that I got from Michael's. It's a frappachino bottle altered. Hubby and I were sitting together and watching the Red Sox play last night. One child was asleep and one was over Grandma's. Yaaaahhh, "me time"! I had to be productive (since I had not been blogging for such a long time), so I whipped this up while watching TV with him.
I just haven't decide what image/wording I'm going to be putting on the label yet.

Hope you enjoy it!

TLC 165

This is the giftcard that I've made for the weekly technique challenge, TLC 165. The dimension is 4 1/4 x 11 piece of cardstock. Scored at 3, 5 1/2, and 8".

Here is a picture of the giftcard opened. I didn't make a band to close the card, but rather the buckle version. Here it is opened.

And this is a close up of the glitter on it. Thanks kids! Yes, 2 and 3 year olds love shiny things.....

Have a good day.

Wedding Card to share

I was in the mood to do a wedding card. This is what I whipped up yesterday. The hardest part is the cake. It's all done with punches. As you can tell, I'm trying to get my mileage out of my new MS punch. It's also perfect for a wedding design. The only stamping on the card is the sentiment.

My son and daughter LOVES glitter, as you can see, I've put some on the card. As you know, my son loves to help me when I'm making a card. I really didn't want the glitter on it but he was pushing me to put it on, so there yo have it...I HAD to put some glitter on the card. Overall, I think the glitter on the cake was a nice finishing touch! Who would have thought that a 3 yr old has such a wonderful eye on designing!

I just wanted to show you that this is what the the card looked like before the "I felt it needed something on the right-hand corner."

Alright, my last card for today

Here is my last Lily card. As you can see, I love using bright colors. This is my least favorite out of all of them but I'm ok with it.

Ummm, maybe another card to share

Well, since I've been such a bad blogger, I'll share wth you another Pink Cat Studio card. This is a birthday (or any other occasion) invite. This set is just perfect for any little girl that you might have in your life. Lily is just too darling. The nicest part is that you can color her in bright and cheery. Whenever I see the image, it makes me want to create happy and bright cards.

Pink Cat Studio card

I wanted to share a card that I've made from the Dress Up Lily (aka Paige)set from the Pink Cat Sudio with you. This is quickly becoming my favorite stamp set. This is a double fold card. Did you notice my new Martha Stewart border punch?? How cute is that?? It matches so perfectly with Lily!

Check this out!

Katharina is giving away a brand new, original Hänglar and Stänglar stamp in her blog:Katharina's Creative Ideas. Go check it out. Her work is awesome!!!

Unproductive Day

I spent about 5 hours in my stamp room and came up with 3 cards. Do you have one of those days?? I think...I KNOW, that I spent most of the time looking for cardstocks, punches, embellishments, etc. Are you one of those people(aka me) who has an idea what you should go on your card and have to have "it" on the card? That the part where I spend my time looking for "it." My headache today was that I couldn't find my C plate for my Cuttlebug. I swear I looked 3 times in the spot where I had put it...and only to find it in the spot where I had put it. Do you think the dust bunnies were playing hide-go-seek with me?

After 5 hours of time to myself, I had to go upstairs..Brrrr, it gets cold in the basement! Well, it's not so bad if it was a warm day like yesterday. We had such an awesome day yesterday. We fired up the grill and had a cook out. Delicious!!! I love grilled food.

I'll share the cards that I made with you tomorrow. I don't have my cable to upload the pictures.

Good night,
Cammy

New card and Company

The main image of the little girl on this card was made by a company called Pink Cat Studio. Isn't she just the cutest???!?!?!?! I fell in love with the images b/c it reminds me of my daughter, Paige. The set is called Dress up Lily. Melissa is the owner and she is super nice!! I told her that the set looks so much like my daughter and she had the packaging changed to "Dress Up Paige"-just for me! The shipping was really cheap and fast--yes, all the way from Canada but it was so fast! Overall, I'm really happy with Pink Cat Studio. I'm hoping to make more cards and showcase it for you. Enjoy!

New cards

I'm really sorry to be such a bad blogger. I promise to have a card for you tomorrow. Between job hunting and trying to enjoy the warm days..I got lazy. Well, it is also b/c we were having work done in our basement as well. My stamp room is a big mess right now, but it's considered clean right now b/c I have not been stamping down there. There are alot of boxes and things from the other rooms while downstairs is being worked on. I know, it doesn't make sense....
So please stay tuned for tomorrow's card debut...hopefully it's something good!(As I mentioned I had been on hiatus for the past month or so, badly needed in my case.)

Back to reality

I've been away for awhile. It was good to take some time off. There's alot of things going on in my life, I've been pretty busy outside of here with personal matters. It seems like the dust is clearing and time to get back to what needs to be done. Hopefully this weekend will be a good one and I can start making cards again. It's been awhile and I feel like a rusty nail.
My upline, Diane, was so sweet. She sent me several lovely cards to get my inspiration moving agian. And the cute notepad was just too adorable..Thank you Diane!!! You are the greatest!!!

In Loving Memory of Aunt Claudia

Aunt Claudia was such a sweet and loving person. Not only was she very generous but she was also very personable. She was very caring, honest, generous, and genuine. She was one of the sweetest person in my life. I can't describe how amazing and generous she was, not only to her family but to others as well. She loved her family very much. She will be greatly missed.

2 Baby Cards

Here are the 2 baby cards that I had made for the baby shower. We went with the duck since it coordinated with the theme. The duck as popped up with pop-up glue dots and glitter pen was applied on the stars/background.
The couple decided not to find out the sex of their baby so the card was kept to neutral colors.

Baby Shower card

Here is the card that I had created to coordinate with the duck-themed presents that we're giving to the expected parents.

My husband's Aunt is so generous!! She sent my daughter a check for her birthday. This is the card that I made last night as a thank you for her. This is my first time using my Embrace Life set. I've been meaning to ink this up--but always got side-tracked. So many stamps...so little time! It's a great set to watercolor!!! I'm thinking I'll try it in baby blue next time......
Hope you enjoy!!

TLC 153

Here's my card for the challege. I started with the paper and did the folds for the flower but it kind of took on a life of its own after that. I'm not too pleased with it but I don't have any time to do another card. I need to get my son to school.

Thomas Kinkade

This is my first attempt at coloring in the Thomas Kinkade images. I got the image from Janet (Gladiola64)--thanks so much Janet!!!I spent about 20-30 min on it. It's not that great but it's my first attempt. Hope you like it! I'll be posting another card that I just made this morning.

This is a close up of my pity attempt--yes, not too pretty really close...

A Few Cards to Share

All week I didn't make a card. I spent the week going over to my Mom's and hanging out. Yes, almost everyday we were over Grandma's. My children just enjoyed spending time with their cousins and grandparents. Grandma and Grandpa always spoils them. A few days ago, my 3 year old and I had a disagreement. I asked him who his mother was and he said, "Thou". Thou means grandma. I tried to rationalize with him that Thou was "MY" mom, and if she's my mom then she can't be his'(mom). He was very adament that Thou is his mom. Well, if I'm not HIS mom, then whose mom am I?? He said Paige's! As you can tell, both of my kids are very close to their grandparents, especially Grandma. My mom doesn't spoil my kids in a bratty way. When we go over, she'll feed them and give them baths, and watch over them. She loves to feed them! She constantly gives them something to eat. Everytime I see them, they're always eating something. Both kids are very healthy, I think they both inherit my DH's fast metabolism.
Last night, I had a few hours to myself and made 5 cards. I'll post them to share with you. They are made using images that I had swap with fellow SCSers. Thanks!!!
Have a nice day!

Wow, I didn't think I'd get hits on my blog at all. I guess it gives me an incentive to update my blog often then. I have not been working on any card this week, maybe tonight I'll get a chance to go downstairs and play. I'll post a card tomorrow.
Thanks for visiting me...

Something different...

This is a card that I made 2 days ago. It's not quite my style but it's something for me to try. I used the ultra thick embossing technique on it and cracked the embossed image once it hardens. I love red and had to put red in somehow...I used the dark sea-green/teal background paper to bring out the vintage look.

How cool is this???

My cousin made portraits of my kids. I just wanted ot share with you his awesome talent!!

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

Wow!! I Won!!

I can't believe I actually won something!!! I won a drawing from Emily's blog !!! You HAVE to check out her blog! She is so awesome! She's very talented and I've enjoyed reading her blog. If you've never been there--run! You're missing great stuff! Hurry!!

What do you get when you have two sick kids?

No time to stamp....
Both children are sick and require so much "hugs". I know I'll miss this when they grow up. My little one constantly wants to hug and my son wants to snuggle. I just love it!! The only thing that I don't like is giving the little one her medicine. She makes a foul face and gets ready for the throwing up part before I even give it to her! I'm thinking it's inate... Please share if you have a secret to giving sick kids their medicine. I really need any help that I could get..
My 3 yr old is pretty good. I rationalize with him as to why he needs to take his medicine. I overheard him telling his little sister that SHE needs to take her medicine if she wants to feel better ..and PLAY! Hahahaa, too cute! He's just the smartest little guy!
I've been busy cranking out scrapbook pages. I'm so indecisive. I've been working on my son, my daughter, and our wedding scrapbook pages. I wanted to do a simple design, but elements that I really like kept creeping onto the page. I just gave up and added them in. My 3-yr old was really helpful. Sometimes he has a better eye than I do ...in what to add. He picks up the weirdest thing that I would not have even noticed and asked if he could put it on the page. Hey! That looks good---but over here. I'll post the bridal cards and the scrapbook pages tomorrow.
Funny thing, I stopped at AC Moore today...yes, the stamp/scrapbook section manager knows me by name there. I was supposed to run in and out to get a few things b/c I needed to pick up my son from pre-school, once inside the store I ended up chatting away with Becky. Before you know it, I had 5 min to pay for my stuff and pick up my son. Lucky me, his school was only a few minutes away. So I wasn't really late....hehehehehee. My husband says my ramblings don't have a story....it doesn't. I guess it could be like Aesop's fable....don't run with your mouth when you have to run with your feet.
Have a good night.

Bridal-themed cards

One of my sister's friend is engaged and getting married this year. She wanted to host a stamping party and asked me to showcase around a wedding theme. Red is my favorite color, so this is what I came up with. I tried to make it elegant. Hope it works. The first three are invite samples and the third one is a table seating card.

This is one of my favorite to create over and over

I love tempting turquoise with black and white. Such a great color combo. This is a trifold card that I love to demo.

Grant's card

My three year old helped me design this card. Isn't just the most adorable slider card you've seen???
