Want one?

I have been busy between multiple things around the house as well as enjoying the summer. Here is a design that I was able to work on. If you are interested in purchasing pre-colored version that I have here, it is available. Also you can purchase a black and white version where you can color for your enjoyment. Please visit my online store at Pepadoo. The artwork is created by my sweet 9 year old daughter, Paige and myself. We enjoyed drawing and coloring. :)

Guest Designer for Cute As A Button on Facebook

Hi All! Welcome to my blog! Thank you so much for making time to visit me.

As I have mentioned, I love to craft. I have always been drawn to everything artistic. I am not sure what it is bu my eyes always gravitate towards it.

I was very glad that I was given the opportunity to be able to work with Cute As A Button images. All of Francesca's artworks are quite lovely! She is a very talented lady! :)

When I saw Cute As A Button's image called "Luck of the Irish"., I immediately fell in love with it. The image reminded me of my niece, Lauren. She is the cutest little thing with flaming red hair and bright blue eyes!

I just had to color her up! Also, Lauren resembles Merida from Disney's "Brave"--oh what fun!! My first card is the blue one of Lauren, aka Merida style. I gave her pale skin and a bright blue dress to bring out her hair. Her hair was the most fun to color! It was just so wild! It matches her personality!

My second card also featured Cute As A Button's image called "Luck of the Irish". This time, I tamed her down a bit and gave her a light bronzed color hair. She is very girly pink on this card with a 'Best Wishes" sentiment. This card is meant for as a birthday or an any occasion card.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you come back again to check in for inspiration.

My Coloring Process

I love to color. Even as a child, I am most happy when left alone to color. Just leave me alone with a box of crayons and you will never hear a peep out of me.

When I color, I just go with whatever I feel in the mood for. One day pink, next day blue....there is no rhyme or reason. Sometimes those color moods can last for days or weeks and other times, on a whim...again no rhyme or reason.

Sometimes the image will tell me what color they should be. For example, like this one...it beckons to be colored green.

I wanted the image to look like night time but hated the dark colors...

I love this image and especially love coloring her in Twinkling H2Os.  Here are a few more pictures of what it look like:

It almost made it look like he lamp was giving off a glow.

Here is the final colored version:

Update on my last coloring of the Water Fairy

Just wanted to post a pic of what became of my coloring of the water fairy. She was printed on a pretty large piece of paper, so it was hard to turn it into a card. I ended up stitching around the edges and mounting the image in layers instead.

She is really sparkly in real life.

A Bookmark for my book worm

Hi All,
My daughter loves to read so she asked me to make her a book mark of the water fairy from "Cute As A Button". I made her 2 book marks. She specifically asked for a blue one...

I was playing around with the pinks and got too carried away with the color.

New coloring project

I've been working on this coloring and I must admit that it is throwing me for a loop. How do I incorporate night and light???

Here is night....

Coloring away

Hi! Welcome back! I was finally able to get a little free time to sit down with the kids on Friday after school and colored away. Here is something that took form.
It is an image from Cute As A Button. My son loves blue and we were just using my old Sugarloaf markers that I got from AC Moore that are over 10 years ago. It is like regular Crayola markers--but with just more colors!

When I saw the image, I knew that she was calling out to me to be colored a turquoise color. My little 9 year old said that she should be blue! (He LOVES bright blue!) I had to incorporate all the shades of blues to make him happy.

Today, while waiting to drop off the kids on their play dates, I was able to sneak out my twinkling H20s and here is what the final version looked like before she becomes part of a project:

I also had to cover up a part of her dress because it didn't look right in the first picture. Just had to show you how iridescent the twinkling H20 looked on her dress:

Hope you enjoyed and please stop by again soon to see what project she turned into.

Back again!

Hello All! It has been awhile since I last posted anything. We have since moved and are settling in. The madness has settled and everything should be back to peacefulness. I have been getting into other hobbies and have been enjoying outdoor life more. I am still a city girl by heart but at the same time does not like breathing in smog-filled air of LA. This new area should be a lot cleaner and healthier for us.

I just wanted to share with you a new artist that I have discovered that I love coloring. Her work is amazing!! Her have is Francesca Lopez and her images are called "Cute As A Button". Here are a few photos that I took of the card that I just finished making:

Enjoy and stop by again!

Pink hearts

This is a die that I won as a prize from the Sparkle N Sprinkle in house contest. It can be purchased from here.
I've combined it with the new bicycle image from Sparkle N Sprinkle. My daughter told me to make a pink card. Hearts + pink =  7 year old girl favorite color.

I love making easel cards. Not sure why...they are just fun!

As you can see, lots of sparkles.

Have a nice day and thanks for stopping by!

Picnic for two

I love tearing paper... What do you do with extra scraps of paper???? I recycle!! I love recycling...well, not really but I try to. I made the rolling landscapes with my extra pieces.
I even made the basket pop out (3D)! Well, enough cutting....
I think I should be investing in 3M double-sided foam tape! I have gone through many rolls (because I love to "pop" everything in my card.

Thanks for stopping by! And I hope that you do (stop by) often...
