I am on CLOUD NINE

I CAN NOT wait to play with my new goodies from Sparkle N Sprinkle! My kitchen table and carpet is now all glittered up! And I am happy!! I used the "Cloud Nine" glitter for the background. It is a semi transparent glitter so it allows you can see the color of the background. You can see through to the yellow background behind the glitter. Very subtle, but such a huge impact. I love it! Don't be surprised if you keep seeing this new-favorite glitter pop up again.

Hermes Paper Purse

Isn't this little guy just too adorable!??!

He is actually a pocketbook....made out of paper! The template is printed out in shiny metallic paper. It doesn't take long to assembled. Here is the back. Just too cute!!

Look what arrived!

I am beyond excited!! My bag of goodies hit the door today! I can not wait to get going! First homework with the kids and I can play! :) Nothing can ruin today. :)

Boy's Theme

I had to share these. I have made girly bookmarks in the past, so it is about time that I made boy bookmarks! Well, I do but it is just that I do not post the pictures.

I have been trying to get my son into reading. What better way than to start with a bookmark!

He loves reading the" Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series. The image was from a free download that I found off the internet. I believe the artist is Dustin Pike.

I wanted to create a single layer bookmark for him. He doesn't like layers. Very simple, just a bookmark that doesn't take up too much room when he is bookmarking that page where he last left off.  Grant's favorite color is blue. Anything that I make for him always contains a shade of blue in it. The last time, he was into "blue" blue. Now I think he is into the "aqua" shade of blue as well as his normal "blue".
The grass was the fun part. I used the Martha Stewart scissor so that I don't have to tire my fingers. It was a lot of cutting to cut out the sheriff. I customized it by adding Grant's name. The sheriff hat, badge and pistols were glossed up.

I loved this hippo. It was too fun to color him up. It is such a versatile image. I can see myself coloring this image in pink and turned it into a "her" next time. I also added the glossy to the cape and mask.

I kept the back pretty simple for both bookmarks. The ribbons and add-ons will only bulk up the book.

Have a nice day!

MIA

Here is the culprit for my MIA. I have been busy with school work and volunteering at the kids school. I often go over home work and lessons with both children. This is my son's project. He is mayor of the week. He had to do a poster which is supposed to tell a little about himself. He had a poster project, shoebox to decorate, and a 3 minute presentation to do in front of his class. For an 8-yr old, it seems like a tall order. We had him practice it yesterday. It was very cute! His 6-yr old sister wanted to do a presentation as well. (I must admit, she was quite good at it! She was just too adorable.) Hopefully that will take the edge off, as Grant hates talking (nevermind being in front of big crowds.) He has always been a quiet boy. He prefers to just observe. He is the quiet type, just always watching and not saying anything. When he does have something to say, it is usually right on the dot. Very observant and honest.

Grant drew the sun himself. The clouds were drawn and cut out by his 6-yr old sister. He painted the sky and grass himself. And he wrote out the sentences. Mommy just helped outline the balloons (he did the cutting) and sun and put the strings on for him. Overall it was a family project. He wanted to keep his shoebox simple, so we just covered it all blue and he just write his name on the top with stickles.
My favorite part was the one that he most admired was his dad.

A happy card

I finally got a chance to wind down and create something. (I need my mental theraphy and creating is my medication.) I created this card to send to my father and mother in-law in Florida. It is early for winter, from where they are at...I don't think they get any winter! :)

Here is the bottom portion with the words to let them know that we are thinking of them.

Checking back in

The sands have finally settled. I can now get my groove back. I just need to figure out where I am at first. A lot of information, and my head is whirling from all of the information. Please bear with me.

Finally!

Finally got my peace and quiet time to craft. We had been on vacation visiting San Francisco.  It was just too beautiful! Napa Valley was my favorite. We got to see vineyards and it was so peaceful. I can not believe how cold it was in the middle of the summer! We had to wear sweaters in San Francisco! The temperature difference between LA and San Francisco was just too strange for me. I am glad to be home and just as thankful to have spent the time that we had with my family.

School started for the children and they were quite happy in their classes. The frenzy has settled down and my life can resume back to its state of boring- ness.

At the same time, I am so excited that I have new followers! ( I thought that no one cares what cards that I am making. But it does to make my heart do a little dance to see new additions. Thank you! :)

I will be posting a picture of a few of my creations in a little bit. I just need to log into my computer to upload it.

Have a nice day and thank you. :)
