Elegant Bride

This card is for the black, white + 1 color challenge. I chose this beautiful Saturated Canary image as the bride. I hid the part where she was lifting the hem of her dress to make it look like a wedding dress.
This is the final card.
What do you think? Can it pass for a wedding card?
This is the colored image before it was turned into a wedding card.

And like a true bride, she is full of sparkles and glitter. I did not capture it on film but in real life the card is very sparkly! :)
I love the color combo.
Layers and layers of personality.
She has a lot of sparkles on her hair and dress.
Pearl accent on the sentiment.

Have a nice day and thanks for stopping by.

Bookmark

I got a chance to work on this for my little 6 yr old yesterday and finished it up this morning. She had requested a pink mermaid. I wanted it to balance, so it was sad that a lot of the mermaid has been covered. I added different elements to give it depth. My little baby was so happy after I gave it to her. She loves the pearls on the mermaid's hair but her favorite was that it has her name on it. I definitely be making more of these....mostly because I love customizing it. I will be making one for my niece and sisters and sending I off to them. Hopefully I can crank it out. LOL....not funny.

Here she is with the lovely pearls in her hair and glitters.. My favorite part is the pink streaks in her hair. Wished my hair looks good with pink streaks. IMO, it takes a special girl to carry off pink streaks.

I love this gingham ribbon. It's so girly and fun.And I made the button myself! I used baker's twine to sew the buttons on to the bow.
She loves hearts and loves to make the "i" in her name with a heart. So I added 2 heart brads for her. Her name is raised on a Spellbinder's tag plate. And the bookmark itself has baker's twine tied across the surface.
Here is the little mermaid all colored up before she becames a bookmark.

And here she is after the bookmark is completed.

Focusing on school today

Hello! Today was a full day for me in getting the kids prepped for school work. We went over 30 pages of math today. It was a lot of work but well worth it when my kiddies are up to date before school starts. My little man wanted to see the third Diary of a Wimpy Kid in theaters. I told him that I would take him once he finishes the book. He is so adorable, he is trying his hardest to finish the book. He has been reading as much as he can. That includes the resting time between math. Since little man has my old bookmark, my little princess requested one of her own! She wanted a pink mermaid. I had work on one today for her. I colored her hair the same color as my daughter's. I will be posting that tomorrow for you. Have a wonderful day and hopefully you will stop by tomorrow.

I love green!

What do you think?
This is another Saturated Canary image. I just LOVE these and Krista is sooooooo talented!!!The picture does not do it justice.
Here is an up close picture of the little cutie.

Lots going on all around her. Plus lots of glitter as well.
And a final look.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by.

Dare to Dream

Here is my take on this lovely Saturated Canary Hollywood image. There is a lot going on. I didn't want to use designer paper for fear that it will detract from the image. I know...the background is enough distraction onto itself. I just finished the card and wanted to photograph it before the sun goes down. The first few photos was just my eagerness to see how she photographs. By the end you can see the card without distractions.
Here is a close up of the image.

A few accessories. My favorite is the sheer ribbon that is full of sparkly glitter.

A lot of depth. The sentiment is propped up. It gives it dimension and....character. :)

Also pearls and diamonds to complete her night out.
 This sentiment fits her perfectly.
Finally a background.... that doesn't detract from the creation.

Sparkles on her eye shadow...

Last look...

Have a nice day :)

Free stand card

This is another Mo Manning image. Isn't she a cutie?!?!?! She was a lot of fun to color. I did not get a chance to finish the bottom of the card base yet. I keep changing my mind on what I wanted to do with the base. I also had time to play with my Spellbinders and thought that it went perfectly with this image! Flowers are from Sizzix and Copics used to color her. enjoy and have a pleasant day! :)

Seam Binding ribbon

I just had to share my seam binding ribbon find! I searched all over the internet for the cheapest place to get there. Finally found one off Amazon.com through ZipperStop. It is a 100 yards and you can dye it to whatever color you want if you order white. SShhhhh! Don't mention it or they will start raising prices on the white ones! hehehehe  I've come acreoss a few on the internet where they charge $3 fro 5 yards, etc...after adding everything up it doesn't make sense to buy small quantities of colored ribbons. So I just ordered the white one and will be coloring it myself. I will post how when I start doing that.

I've finally got a chance to finish up this card! Whew!! It is funny, I start with a design in mind and 90% of the time end up with something else. I had a completely different desgn in mind for this cutie but in the end she took a life of her own. Most of my cards are determined by the image. Fun images demand fun card designs, etc...hahahahaha.
Here more pictures of the elements used:
The flowers are from Sizzix. I had alot of fun with these and I love matching!
I love the glittered black ribbon.
And the side view:
Thank you for visiting and have a pleasant day. :)

Saturated Canary Freebie

I was beyond excited when Krista Smith had given away this freebie. I LOVE it!! It is the cutest image. I love the kitten that she is holding. Hmmm, maybe Krista will make one with her holding a penguin. My daughter loves penguins. Not sure how it all happened but she has loved them the day since she was born, or so it seems. She's 6 and still loves penguins! :) I planned to take her to the aquarium today. We'll be seeing a penguin exhibit. I'll blog more about that after our trip. Until then here is my card that I have made with the new digi.

Up-close of the image:
I had to show off the new seam binding ribbon that I had ordered through ZipperStop. I love the vintage feel to it when you crinkle it up! I will be showing you how to make them in different colors ...coming soon!
The button is hand-made. I like the light feel of making it myself vs. using heavy buttons.
I've popped the flowers up on foam. The flowers are from EKSuccess and the glitter on her stockings are from the Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pen.
And here is my final version. Thanks for visitng!
